Centre Manager Catherine Lowe

Catherine joined the staff here at the Club in March 2009 following a career in Retail Management, Management Consultancy and the Management of Welfare to Work contracts. Catherine has overall responsibility for day to day running of the Club, in particular the financial side of the business. She also deals with all Grant Applications to support our Capital Projects and other group funding, Staff Management, New Business etc.


Deputy Manager Kasia Wypiorczyk – on Maternity Leave, will return May 2018

Kasia joined the team as a part-time Administrator Assistant in January 2015. She moved on a full-time position as a Duty Manager from September 2015. She support ongoing running of the club, marketing and is there to answer any queries from the club members. Kasia’s career background and undergraduate studies were in hospitality management and in October 2014 she graduated with a MSc in Ecotourism. She is passionate in sustainable development hence is helping us implementing some of the environmental initiatives the club is working on. Kasia is a very active person, who practices Capoeira, a Brazilian unique cultural art, so you can see her very often in the club as she is attending Capoeira classes there.

Facilities Manager Daniel Cranmer

Daniel started work at the Club over 5 years ago. Daniel worked predominately in warehousing and logistics he is responsible for the cleanliness and hygiene within the Club, for Health and Safety and for supporting our groups and for helping with general enquiries, fundraising etc. Daniel takes responsibility for the Club in the absence of the full time staff.


Administration Assistant Karolina Skibinksa

Karolina is taking over for Kasia while she is on Maternity Leave. She was offered a job at North Merchiston Club after completing a work placement.

Football Club Administrator Vanessa D’hibi

Vanessa joined us to help with the Football Club and will be here on Tuesday evenings & Sundays 11-4. She holds a Degree in Midwifery and Currently is working at Edinburgh College Full-time in the Quality Department. Vanessa will also help with Reception etc.

Playgroup Staff:

Playgroup Leader Honor Harris

Honor joined the team in May 2016 as Play Worker and with 16 years of experience working with all ages of Children from babies to 12 years old she is a great asset to the team. She became the Playgroup Leader in August 2016 and took on planning activities, organising staff and welfare and safety of the children. Honor’s qualifications are HNC Level 3 Childcare and Education NC Level 2 Childcare, SSSC, PVG, Child Protection, Children’s First Aid.

Play Worker Tamsyn Sutton

Tamsyn joined the team in August 2016 as Play Worker. She has 2 children, a boy and a girk, who both have attended the playgroup. She also volunteer for Harrison Playgroup and then North Merchiston Playgroup as the Treasurer for several years. Her qualifications are BSc Hons Psychology & Health Science and PVG.

Play Worker Angie Cassidy

Angie joined the team in August 2016 as Play Worker. She has worked with children and their families for 10 years. I also work as a Registered Childminder. She has 3 children of her own who have attended this playgroup. Her qualifications are SVQ 3 Social Services for Children & Young People (in progress) Childcare First Aid, PVG, Child Protection, Elementary Food Hygiene and Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC).

Play Worker Jenni McLachlan

Jenni joined the team in August 2016 as Play Worker. She has 3 daughters, one attended this playgroup and Jenni attended it herself when it was known as Harrison Playgroup at Phoenix Club. She is a part-time childminder for 12 years now. Jenni started Home-Start Volunteer a family charity and ran a toddler group as volunteer for 2 years at Destiny Church. Her qualifications are NC Childcare, HND Childcare and Education, HND Professional Photography and PVG.
